With our last day in KL, I was keen to go to Petaling Street in Chinatown to pick up spome of the cheap DVD's available, and some cheap boots. However Eunice managed to contact Graham and Sue so we met up with them at The Curve shopping mall.
We stopped for lunch and caught up on the last few days and what had been happening since the Wedding Reception, which seemed so long ago. After the catch up, Graham and Sue went with Babe and Lawrence, as they wanted to show them their house and return some of the hospitality that they had received in Perth, meanwhiole Eunice and I headed to Petaling Street.
One of the Hawkers had some of the DVD's we were after, however the local authorities came through, and th markets virtually packed up and left, I was watching them with walkie-talkies and mobile phones informing the others to get out or risk a hefty fine (I understand each item is an RM1000 fine), so we were not able to complete the deal, Eunice was looking through other stalls when the same guy found us again, bringing the DVD's, but he said we couldn't test them, which was part of the original deal. We said if we couldn't test them, we wouldn't buy them, and he got angry and he and Eunice exchanged a few words.
We skulked out of China Town, taking mostly the back areas so he couldn't see us again, with Eunice saying that you never know what they may do for a deal gone bad. We went for a coffee and a bite to eat and headed soon afterwards to Mydin, a large discount shop, where we bought some items for the house and looked at the boots I'd seen earlier. Eunice gave the thumbs down on the boots, as they were PVC rather than leather as I'd bought the last time from KL. So we continued shopping until around 6PM.
After that Eunice wanted to maximize the time we had remaining, so we headed to another huge shopping mall called Bandar Utama, not too far from Babe and Lawrences place; we shopped there until around 9.30PM, then caught a cab home with all our newly acquired goodies.
Tonight we need to pack the bags as we'll be getting up early tomorrow for the 9AM flight. I'm not sure how we're going to fit everything in!!
